Meet Dr. Plancich
A Tacoma native, Dr. Gregory J. Plancich, DDS attended Woodrow Wilson High School where he excelled both academically and athletically. With a bachelor’s degree in Physiology from University of Washington, Gregory J. Plancich entered dental school at the University of Washington. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1989 and graduated in the top ten of his class with Prosthodontic Honors (crowns, veneers, bridges, and implants). During Dr. Plancich’s dental training, he was selected to receive advanced training in implant dentistry, participated in special research programs and was appointed a faculty assistant at his alma mater. Strongly committed to ongoing professional education, Dr. Plancich participates in many continuing education courses, seminars, clinics, and taught at the dental assisting program at Clover Park Technical College for many years. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Washington State Dental Association, Pierce County Dental Society, and the Academy of Microscope Enhanced Dentistry.
Dr. Plancich has been practicing dentistry in North Tacoma since 1989 and relocated Plancich Dental to the current Old Town location in 1998. Through his constant pursuit for perfection, Dr. Plancich incorporated the use of the dental operating microscope in 2003. Virtually all dental procedures are performed with the aid of the dental operating microscope. Microscope Enhanced Dentistry improves the accuracy and efficiency of each dental procedure while preserving precious tooth structure and gum tissue.
Dr. Plancich is happily married and a father of three. In his free time, he enjoys golf, fly fishing, and is an avid sports fan. When he’s not working, Dr. Plancich is involved with fund raising for the Tacoma Athletic Commission, the Tacoma Boxing Club, the Tacoma Pierce County Sports Museum, and the Boys and Girls Club.
